If you're looking for online work that you can "share, use, and remix" -- with proper attribution (credit) -- then CC Search (search.creativecommons.org) is a good place to start.

CC Search is a search portal that connects you to search engines for music, videos, photos, and other media that you may be able to use without obtaining prior copyright permission.

To increase your chances of success, be sure to deselect (uncheck) the "use for commercial purposes" checkbox before you begin your search.

Once you've found a work you want to use, be sure to attribute the work as directed. The photo at the start of this post is from a Flickr photostream. I've attributed (cited) the work as requested by the artist. You can find a brief explanation of how to do that here.

Good luck and happy content hunting!
